I shall continue to fight for a through train to London from Grimsby via Market Rasen, as I have done for years now, despite the disappointing letter we received from the transport secretary earlier this year. Grimsby is one of the largest towns in England to not have a through train to London. The Government is not prepared to spend the under £1 million it'd cost to do this and instead provide excuses, listing unnecessary extra cost. Yet we are willing to continue to commit many many times more than that to HS2. We must cease being beholden to such unproductive and fruitless bureaucracy.
