Just last night I was on BBC Look North discussing the replacement of the Red Arrows' Hawk T1 jets with Peter Levy.

Today I met with Tristan Crawford of the company Aeralis.

They have a bold plan to come up with a UK-designed and UK-built trainer jet that can replace the Hawk T1s with an eye to a lucrative export market as well.

The Government have admitted in the Strategic Defence Review that the Hawks need replacing but they have not yet made any commitments on how they will do so.

For now, it's just 'watch this space'.
