While historical misdeeds must be acknowledged and condemned, we should judge individuals by the standards and morality of the time in which they lived. It is unfair to judge people of a different era by the ever changing and evolving views of our own time.
For those of religious persuasion, we must remember that this should be used not for judgement, but for universal love. This love should extend to babies, young mothers, frail people, and every individual from the very beginning of life until the end.
