For decades now I have seen successive governments get very little bang for buck on defence spending. We need to stop the scandal of defence procurement - we have the 6th biggest defence budget in the world yet it has slowly become increasingly apparent that we get diminishing returns to show for it.
We need to cease projects that are not suited for modern warfare and go back to building an armed forces that is capable, if necessary, of fighting a war.
