Flooding in Fiskerton and Short Ferry

Inspecting the flooding

I've been out in Fiskerton and Short Ferry today to inspect the damage from the recent floods.

I spoke with the Environment Agency, Lincolnshire County Council, and Lincolnshire Police about their flood response.

It's a relief that residents have now been told they can go home safely but we need to make sure we're prepared for the future.

A long-term solution is needed with more flood plains to protect homes rather than just patching up banks after incidents.

Lincs Cash Welcome But No Need for Mayor

Wednesday, 22 November, 2023

Of course I welcome extra funding for Lincolnshire, which is our due anyway as historically we have been underfunded.

At the same time, I very much regret that the Government is insisting that we must have a mayor imposed on us just to get what is our due.
